Had another great day at Bristol and the weather was great. Crowds still weren’t as big as they could be. However, from what Mike, Sara, Rich and Suanna tell me this was the most profitable opening weekend for Heathstone’s history at Bristol…SWEET!

Sigh work tomarrow :(

Opening day at Bristol….HURRAY! Wohlers came up Friday night and will be traveling with us. We got up early and had a relatively uneventful trip through construction on I94. The day was mild and weather was great. There could have been a bigger crowd but all in all the day went well. Got to see Wohlers Cutlass cooking show and even videotaped it for him. If you are on Facebook and who isn’t nowadays join the fan club by searching  “Cutlas Cooking’s Pantry Parley.”

The day was full of catching up with friends new and old. It was also awesome that Mike was in the shop the whole day and did just fine health-wise. Juli’s shop next door seemed to do well and had lots of foot traffic through. Sales for Hearthstone weren’t too bad but they can always be better.

Went out and had a great meal at Rock Bottom with Gabi, Joy and Dave. Then we headed to go see the second Transformers movie, Revenge of the Fallen. It was alright, not the greatest cinematic work but a good mindless movie fully of action.

I’ve got work in the morning, gotta hit the bed.

Got up shortly after Gabrielle and Joy went out for a girls day out of frivolity and mayhem. Managed to get some cleaning up around the house done and even got something done that I’ve been meaning to get done for quite awhile. I headed to Kinkos and scanned my family coat of arms scanned to pdf. Had to do it at Kinkos since I had given away my old scanner and never replaced it.

Here’s my family coat of arms:

Thinking that we may do a movie later and dinner would be nice soon, so I’ll post later,

I just tried out a new RSS reader called Awasu. I had been using Newsgator but I think I like Awasu better and it’s free. It is much simpler to use and has a very nice interface with simple organization. Hey guys, don’t forget to subscribe to my blog as it has RSS feeds as well.

I finished my first leather pouch today. I’d post a picture but my camera is dead and the camera on my phone pretty much sucks so I’ll have to post one later. The pouch didn’t turn out too bad for a first attempt without a pattern. It definitely looks handmade and mistakes are obvious but it should be functional for faire at least until I make a new one. It would be so much easier to make if I could run the leather on the sewing machine but ours just isn’t set up for that and is too old to find parts to run the leather through. Maybe in time we can get a new sewing machine. If I could get some good patterns down, I think it would be neat to be able to sell leather stuffs through the Attic with Pam and Tony Camera.

Joy came up today and is staying through the weekend with us. It will be nice for Gabrielle and Joy to have some girl time together and catch up on things. We were thinking of hooking up with Dave Dittman and maybe doing dinner and a movie. John Wohlers was talking about comming up to pick up his video camera that I borrowed so maybe he’ll be able to hang out for a bit.

ta for now,

Hey all,

So my skin is still peeling like mad. I’m beginning to think I should start rubbing myself against a tree or rock like a snake to help the sloughing of my epidermis.

Speaking of skin, I’m finally working with some of the leather I bought. I am attempting to make my first pouch, attempting being the emphasized word. I’ll let ya’ll know how it turns out. I hope to have it done in time for faire. My other pouches are great but they are bulky and thick (which is nice for protection of the cell phone), but I think I’d rather have something lighter and not so laterally obtrusive. Especially now that I’m in the pottery shop…I mean really I’m big enough lets not add bits that stick out even more…uh ok get your minds out of the gutter, you know what I mean.  So anyway, like I was saying I was working with the leather I had brought and was trying to use a fabric pencil to layout my pattern. It wasn’t working very well. It then dawned on me that leather is pretty much just the skin of an animal and hey, I’ve got a surgical skin marker…I wonder? Yep, that damned little purple marker works wonders for my cut marks and so forth.

I’ve also been working on cleaning up my endless list of favorites on my computer. There are so many dead links and sites I really don’t need to have cluttering up my list so I’m working my way down the list and the delete button is getting quite the work out. I found this on my list so if anyone is interested in the GPS location of our house it is :

Latitude = 41.9336, Longitude = -88.1671
Lat    = 41 degrees,   56.0 minutes   North
Long = 88 degrees,   10.0 minutes   West
Going to cuddle up with the wife now,
